THE STORYSurrounded by scenic landscapes, historic landmarks, culinary havens, theaters, and specialty shops, The Spires luxury residences is currently under development in the heart of downtown Frederick, Maryland. Boutique by design, The Spires is comprised of six townhouse suites spanning four floors, each boasting remarkable details, expansive views, and infinite possibilities. Named after the famous historic fixtures that spread across the city’s skyline, the property’s developer, JR Capital Build, has had a very clear vision for The Spires—every aspect, every element, right down to the smallest detail, will be sleek, luxurious, and high-end. With a design-build project this unique to the City of Frederick, we knew it was essential to build an exceptional brand that would rise to the occasion.

THE SOLUTIONBy working closely with the client through the discovery phase, we determined a clear course for the brand’s identity, vision, attributes, and the need for versatility. From there I developed a sleek wordmark built from the typeface Madera, designed by award-winning French type designer, Malou Verlomme. Much like the property it represents, the wordmark is spacious in design and showcases a clean, modern take on a spire, incorporating the symbol into the name and doubling as the I. The tagline, Live Inspired, gives a nod to the property’s name, but also to the lifestyle that comes with living at The Spires, in its arts-rich downtown neighborhood. Inspired by a tremendous vision, the groundwork has been set for an elevated brand unique to this community.
