THE STORY2019 marked the 50th anniversary for Frederick Sign & Banner Co.—a half century of designing, manufacturing, and installing a wide range of high-quality custom signage for the Frederick County/Washington DC metro area. This milestone also bid a fond farewell and best wishes to the company's founder and welcomed new owner and president, Andrew Hoffman. From day one, Andrew's mission was to honor the company's legacy and build upon its reputation. He made it his priority to learn every detail and nuance that made the business tick, to nurture long-standing client relationships, and develop new ones. While it was clear that elevated craftsmanship and customer service would continue to be of paramount importance, Andrew understood that it was time to take a hard look at the brand—particularly if he wanted to achieve specific objectives and next-level success for his new company. It was time to dig deeper.

THE SOLUTIONCollaborating closely with Frederick Sign & Banner Co., we carefully evaluated the current brand and developed a brand platform, as well as a rebranding strategy. From there we created a brand identity suite and tagline that aligned with the newly established platform and developed a comprehensive rollout that would seal the deal. Frederick Sign & Banner Co.'s new brand aesthetic conveys a set of attributes determined in the initial discovery phase—refined and serious, while showcasing a level of luxury and formality. An ideal parallel to the company's brand promise of delivering high-quality craftsmanship along with exemplary customer service. These characteristics are reflected in the brand identity which features an elegant monogram brandmark that forms the company's initials, F, S, and B. The mark's handcrafted serif letterforms are meticulously carried through in the logotype, unifying the logo design as a whole. The carefully crafted brand platform allowed the brand's refined elegance to shine through in the new brand identity and various print and digital touchpoints. When your business objective is to go above and beyond for your clients, and you hang your hat on values such as quality, craftsmanship, creativity, collaboration, and responsiveness, your brand and identity better stand and deliver.
